In-Person Therapy for Men in Denver with a Board-Certified Counselor
If you’re like a lot of men, you’ve probably been carrying more than you let on.
Is holding it all in starting to take a toll?
Therapy is a space to unpack it all, learn tools for growth, and start feeling more like yourself again.
Your friends and family probably know how to supportively listen. But healing, change, and growth take more than just a compassionate ear.
You need a trained guide who will listen, support, and challenge you.
My name is Mike Garrison.
I wasn’t always a therapist. For nearly 25 years, I worked in high-pressure Fortune 500 roles and later acquired, ran, and successfully sold my own business.
Here’s the rest of the story…
Yes, I’ve been the guy who looked like he had it all together on the outside.
But inside? Not always. I know what it’s like to feel stuck, fight battles no one else can see, and be your own worst critic.
What I’ve learned is this: what you run from follows you. There’s no shortcut and no magic pill. Real change doesn’t happen by pretending everything is fine. It starts when you get honest with yourself, ask for help, and commit to doing the work.
Today, as a licensed and board-certified counselor, I help men across Colorado heal, grow, and move forward with purpose.
I provide men’s mental health therapy in Denver, offering both in-person and virtual counseling for men navigating anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, relationship challenges, and questions of identity and direction. Although I specialize in men’s mental health, I welcome clients of any gender identity who feel we’d be a good fit to work together.
If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone:
• You’re successful in many areas of life, but something still feels off.
• You’re constantly in your head, second-guessing decisions.
• Stress, anger, or anxiety show up more than you’d like.
• Relationships feel harder than they should.
• You’re carrying things you’ve never really talked about.
This is exactly the kind of work I help men with.
Your first therapy session is a chance to get oriented and hear how therapy typically unfolds — not a deep dive into trauma on day one. We talk about what you want to work on and set goals together. My approach is practical, evidence-based, and focused on healing—helping you gain clarity, build confidence, and create meaningful progress.
If you’re ready to start making real changes, I’d be glad to talk with you.
Clients describe my approach as straightforward, compassionate, and practical. Therapy with me isn’t meandering. It’s focused on insight, action, and meaningful progress. You’ll learn and grow with evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment-focused work, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Wondering what the next step looks like?
I offer a free 20-minute consultation by phone. We’ll talk about what you want to accomplish in therapy, I’ll answer any questions you have, and together we’ll decide whether working together feels like the right fit. No pressure—just a conversation.
This is where the real talk happens.
Comfortable chairs, natural light, and zero judgment. Just a space for you to think, reflect, and move forward.
